QUIET WEDDING AT HAVELOCK NORTH

NELSON— GOLDSMITH A quiet wedding was celebrated at St, Luke's Angiican Church at Havelock North on Aprii 14, the contracting parties being Elizabeth MacBride (Sister) Goldsmith, second daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Goldsmith, of Napier, and George, third son of the late Mr. William Nelson, of "Waikoko," Tomoana. The Ven. Archdeacon K. E. McLean perfornied the ceremony. The bride, ' who was given away by Major J. O. Scott, of Wairoa, wore a tailored costume of navy blue cavalry twill, beige net and lace blouse, with cascade front and coat-spruy of geraninms to match., She also wore a navy velour hat with a quill of the new petrel blue, the costume being finished with blue shoes. She carried an ivory covered prayer book, the gift of her bridesmaid. Miss Esme Scott, the bridesmaid, niece of the bride, was wearing a tailored costume of grey, and also a white Hungarian peasant blouse. Her toilette was completed with a navy velour hat with a blue quill, also navy accessories, and she carried a prayer book. The duties of best mau were porformed by ,Mr. Nelson Lane, of Havelock North, nephew of the bridegroom. A guard of honour was formed by nurse friends of the bride in the vestibule of the church.

The interior of the church had been decorated with zinnias, autumn foliage, gerberas and maidenhair fern by Mesdames J. C. Lockie and A. Wood, foriner colleagues of the bride. Appropriate music was played by Major Oldham, of Havelock North, who presided at ,the organ. Relatives of the bride and bridegroom were entertained at * an afternoon tea given by the joint hostesses, Mrs. Hector Smith, Ormlie, sister of the bridegroom, and Mrs. J. O. Scott, sister of the bride, at Keirunga, Havelock North. The decorations were dahlias in shades of cherry and lemon, pom pom dahlias of deep mulberry, ' and autumn foliage, which made a charmin'g effect 'for the blue toned drawing-room with latticed windows. Mrs. Hector Smith wore a charming froek of white and blue silk marocain, with circular yoke, and a picture hat with a silver band and white accessories. Mrs. J. 0. -Scott's' model frock of wedgewood blue flat. crepe had pin tucks in the pleated skirt, an accor- • dion pleated frill round the neck and dainty white front with a wedgewood blue rose, and the belt was fastoned at the back with a -French pearl clasp. Her hat was oi' coronation blue with quiils of blue and red. Among those present were: — Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Marett (Napier), Mr. and Mrs W. H. Gaterell (Napier), Major and Mrs J. O. Scott (Wairoa), Miss Esme Scott (Gisborne), Mrs Ewen Dolbel (Hastings), Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Jane (Havelock North), Mr, Nelson Lane (Havelock North), Mrs. Oswald Nelson (Mangateretere), Mr. and Mrs. Hector Smith and Miss Olga Smith (Ormlie), Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Nelson (Whakamarumaru). Miss Sally Russell (Little Flaxmere), and Mr. and Mrs Lionel Nelson (Wellington).
