Forward Wethers Advance by 1/- a Head LAMBS UNCHANGED A firm market pxevailed for store sheep ' at Stortford Lodge to-day when 12,000 head were penned.4 Lambs pre- ' dominated, while ' there were several entries Of f at and forward wethers and ewes in lamb. : . Wethers • in • very forward condition, being in killable order, ehowed an advance of 1/- a head to-day when a large draft off the Kereru hills topped the market at 28/-. Another splendid' entry, on account of Mr H. E. Clark, off his Rissington property, in excellent order, sold at 27/10. . . Lambs showed little change from last week, with the ' exception of a few second-quality- lines which improved slightly, while others made better buy? ing than a week ago. Fat arid forward shorn Eomney wether lambs made 21/10. Young ewes in lamb made to 31/3, while aged sorts, poorly-mo'uthsd, reached to 23/-. Forward einpty ewes realised 17/with aged poor store sorts realising' to 14/-. . • ' ; , Eealisations were as under:— On account of Mr Colin White, Te Mahanga, 160 aged ewes, running with Southdown rains since February 11, brought 23/1. On aqcount of Mr H. E. Clark, Awanui, Rissington, 208 well-framed, earlyshorn,* fat and" forward 'wethers, in splendid order, being well woolled and heavy, met the market at 27/9: • On account 'of Mr J, J. Gatenby,Haumoana, 287 shorn Romney ewe lambs, showing a Corriedale cross, sold at 22/6: * ' , . A further entry on accojunt of Mr. *H. E. Walker, Maraekakaho, 213 four and five-year ewe* running with Southdown rams since the first week in Marqh, rather low in the mouth, sold. at 22/9. Down from Te Mahanga, 90 small grown black-faced lambs in good store order and: hardy sold at 15/-.
