NO FURTHER CASES

Hastings Infantile Paralysis REOPENING OF SCHOOLS No further cases of infantile paralysis have been reported to the health authorities in Hastings during the 24 hours ended at noon to-day. The general position of the epidemic in Hastings now is considered very satisfactory and the outlook hopeful. There has been no case Teported in the town since last Wedtfesday, though during the week-end a child, brought into Hastings from the country, was diagnosed a victim. Should there be no further cases reported in the town during the next two or three days, it is believed to be almost certain that the schools will be allowed to reopen on Monday. The decision, however, rests with the Department of Health at Wellington, and some artnouncement regarding the schools is anticipated within the next 48 hours.
