NURSES' CHRISTIAN UNION MEETING
The monthly meeting of the Hastings Scattered Nurses' Group of the Nurses' Christiaii Union, was held in the G.F.S. rooms, Mrs. Drummond, president, being in the chair. A hearty welcome was given to the visitors present, An invitation from the Hastings Townswoiuen's Guild to attend their function in cOnnectiou with Coronation Week was received with much pleasure. .Members were reminded of the, church- service to be held in connection with Florence Nightingale 's Day, the second Sunday ' in May.; Mr. Neilsen was the speaker for the afternoon, his subject - being "Five Years' Work Among , the Mohammedans in India." He , described the descent of these people from, Ishmael, the accuracy of Scripture- coucerning them — "A wild ass that no" man can time," their hand "against every man and every man's hahd against them,." saying that this, was proved by history and personal experience. * Of strong character and fearless, the Arabians have never been conquered. Two hundred and fifty million Mqslems ■are familiar with Abraham, the father Of Ishmael. When converted by the Gospel of Jesus Christ these people make splendid Christians. 4 Yivid accounts of. f estivals in India, the wonderful feat of fire walking, and of a Moslem f ast, were listened to with great interest. During the fast of 30 days, the whole of the Koran was Te-' cited from memory by some of the Moslems.. . : f. Mr. Nielsen 'wa,s thanked for his inspiring address, and assured of the prayerful interest of the members in the work. ' The meeting was brought -to a close with afternoon tea. ■
