HAPPY AFTERNOON AT GUILD OF FELLOWSHIP
A happy meeting of the members of, S>t= Matthew's Guild of Fellowship was held yesterday afternoon when the members of the Parkvale and Mahora Guilds were their guests. The president, Mrs Barton Hobbs, and the seeretary, Mrs H, de Denne were present and Mrs Hobbs extended a welcome to the guests and also all new members. Mrs W. W. Hainsworth entertained the members with three excellent recitations, "The Divine O&ce of The Kitchen," "Obadiah" and "The Measure" and was heartily applauded. A deliciops afternoon tea was enjoyed, Mrs Allen and Mrs D. Drummond being the tea hostesses. Several gifts were brought .and some were sold to aid the funds and many of those present spent the afternoon sewing for the guild. While afternoon tea was being finished Mrs D. W. Hursthouse entertained every one at the piano and. ' played several old favourite songs. After tea the Rev. K. Liggett played several very delightfiil piano solcs which were much appreciated by liis listeners, He also spoke a" fevv words to those present saying that it was hardly jiecessary to extend a special welcome to parishioners from Mahora and Parkvale but that he was li&ppy to see them present. Mr Liggett said that- the spice of all hospitality was reciprocation artd lie hoped that the return visit would ndt be far off.
