Outline of Programme EMPIRE PAVILIONS

WELLINGTON, Last Night. The general manager of the New Zea-. land Centennial Exhibition Oompany, Mr. O. P. Hainsworth, rnade a state-i ment to-day outlining generally the plan iof ,the exhibition. "It is the intention primarily," said. Mr, Hainsworth, "to cater for the interests of every section of the eomxnun- . ity. Ifc is proposed that the exhibition sh&ll be international in character and uegotiations will be instituted in due course for offlcial representations fromi the Home Gountry, the various DominionS'' of the Empire and from as many foreign countries as possible. .The New Zealand Government, we hope, will bo cha'racteristically represented under the proposed scheme. "It is hoped each country will have its own pavilion or will secure space which it can effectively -utilise for the display of its products. In addition it is proposed that each province of New Zealand sball be separately represented by ample and comprehensive exhibits s reflecting its own xesourees. Apajrt altogether from „ the provineial courts the aim is to have preferably in separ-' ate structures exhibits representing the primary and secondary industries, engineering, motor transport, edncational displays, artisans' works and general exhibits. "Regarding the entertainment to be provided at the exhibition, it has beea decided to engage for the full period * first-class military band from England. Isation's, concert companies, etc., will also be engaged as artistic attrections as the occasion demands. "In the realm of spoT.t it is intended to hold a series of big athletic and jgporting events of every kind and in Ithat connection it is proposed to secure as an adjunct to the exhibition the (Kilbirnie stadium, which adjoins the j exhibition Bite. Provision will also be imade for holding pageants, pyrotechnic j displays and a brass bands eontest. |Approximately 12 acres will be set aside ifor the purposes of an amusement. park.
