Suhstantial Grants Promised
(Received. 21, 8.45 a.m.) EUGBY, 'April 19. The Oommissioner for Special Areas has promised further substantial grants to local authorities in special areas towards schemes undertaken by them on the grounds of public health. « The Oommissioner 's total commitinents at the end of March were £10,712,000, including grants to assist mdustry of £3,058,000; for land settlement ,etc,, £3,182,000; for schemes necessary on the grounds of public health, £3,28-6,000; other grants, £1 ,1861)00.
