"FLYING FORTRESS"
^ ..ii o 9 i r 20-Ton Bomber Built for United States (Reeeived 19, 8.45 a.m.) WASHINGTON, April 17. The Army Air Corps has announced that a 20-ton bomber, termed the largest and most powerful military plane constructed in the world, is nearing completion at the Boeing faetory in Beattie. A test flight will be made within a fortnight. The plane has been under construc"cion for three years. Details are a piilitary secret, and officers said it would startle the world with its altitude ability. It would be known as the llyihg fortress. It has complete living quarters aboard.
