HASTINGS CHESS CLUB

Annual Meeting Held The annual general meeting of th© Hastings Chess Club was held in the Pasadena tea-rooms, the president, Mr ;A Stevenson, presiding over a good aftendance of chess enthusiasts. The following ofiicers were eleoted, — Patron, Mr J, Cbambers (re-elected) ; president, Mr A . Stevenson (re-elected); vioerpresidents, Messrs Mitehell, Orbell ; secretary, Mr J. Heenan ; treasurer, Mr J>. Lynch ; club captain, Mr F. Mintoff. The president, in the course of his address, congratulated Mr Mintoff on winning the championship for th© third timo, thus winning the cup outright. He also congratulated Mr D. Lynch on his very hue performance at tlie New Zealand championships. It was decided that Tuesday be the club night during the month of April, and after that Thursday. Intending members are invited to ^end in their names to the secretary, Box 51, Havelock North.
