Anzac Day Functions The monthly meeting of the committee of the . Hastings Returned Soldiera' Association waa held last evening, the president, Mr P. J. Priest, being in the chair. Other members present were Messrs P. J. S. George, C. Prebble, F. H. Goldfiuch, D. S. .McLeod, L. J. Mae•Kersey, W. A. Mclntyre, A. J. Manson, L. J. B. Hammond, G. H. Roach and V. A.. Thomson' (secretary). Leave of absence was granted to' Mr N. C. Harding. In connection with the Anzac Day service, it was decided to inake this the occasion of the presentation to the Mayor of the resolution drawn np by headquarters expressing the thanks and appreciation of the Returned Soldiers' Association of the support accorded by the general public to the association during the 21 years of its existence. The 21st anniversary of its foundation falls on April 28. It was resolved also to present a' copy of the address to tha chairman of the Havelock North Town Board. ' It was decided that the parade on Anzac Day should. assemble at the bandroom and march via Lyndon road, Russell street and Heretaunga street to the theatre. An invitation to afternoon tea, for all returned soldiers on parade, was received from the Mayor and Councillors and accepted with thanks. The function is to take place in the Apsembly Hall at. .the conclusion of the A'anzac Day service. The Borough Couneil wrote exten'ding an invitation to the association to parade on Coronation Day, and it was decided to announce this at the annual meeting. 4 This being the last meeting of the committee before the annual meeting, the president . expressed his thanks to the members of the committee for the support .and assistanee accorded him during' the year. All present spoke in appreciation of tho work 0# the president and the secretary, who suUably respondod.
