WAIPUKUEAU, This Day. The following wero present at tho monthly meeting of the Central Hawke's Bay Power Board yesterday: Messrs A. C. Russell (chairman), W. H. Rathbone, F. J. Witherow, R. A. Fraser, A. C. Holms, W. A. Chambers, M. .Ryan, C. 'Pattison, A. W. S. Longley, J. A, Kerr, and. the secretary-manager, . Mr C. E. Fowler, and the .engineer, Mr J. K. Lee. Requests for information xegarding the supply of power were received from Mr F. C. Daniels and three others in the Ongaonga district, and" from Mr D. Butler; and ' seven others on the Tiko-kino-Waipawa road. — The former wasdealt with in the engineer 's report, and the latter is to be surveyed as soon as possible. It was reeolved to donate £10 to the King George V. Memorial Fund. An application from the Waipukurau Borough Council for a xeduction ip. the charges for power for heating and lighting wgm deferred until the estimates come up for consideration. In response to requests' from the '.Waipukurau Football Club and the ,High School Old. Boys' Football' Club for- a cheap rate foir flood lighting of ' Russell Park, it was decided to cha'rge 7d'per unit without anyiminjmum charge. All the' board 's employees are to be granted a paid holiday on Coronation Day. The auccessful tenderers for the erecfion of new power lines in tho board 's area were Messrs L. Bunn and Sons, of Waitara. The following recommendations by the Works Committee were adopted: — That the contractor proceed with work authorised in the following rotation: — Messrs Stubbs and Jackson, li miles; Spring HUI, 8i miles; Tamumu, 13} miles; E. T.. Poulton, 1 mile; J. Hamilton, 1 mile. That the engineer survey and .ascertain the guarantee required for Poran-gahau-Wimbledon (two routes); Mr'D. Butler and others, Tikokino-Waipawa road; Alder Bros., and three others, Ongaonga; Lethbridge Jnr.;, TamumuOmakere. That the engineer then finish the pegging-out of Spring Hill-Stubbs, Jackson-Poulton-Hamiltons and Tamumu lines. That the contractor commence line erection so soon as 100 concrete poles are made.
