Paid Rates on Property, but Held No Title STRUCK OFF ROLL For the past 25 years the Heretaunga Dairy Co. has been payingt rates • on a particular section, but it has now aseertained that it has no, title to the lan "1, merely a drainage right. Under these circuinstances the company asked the Hastings Borough "Council last evening to remove its name from the valuation roll as far as this property is concerned. The company also asked if it is possible for a refund of rates paid over the last 25 years to be made. The council agreed to adjust the valuation roll, but the company is to be advised that it has no legal power to make a refund of the rates.
