Committee Secretary Resigns

ONGAONGA, This Day. The Ongaonga School Committee held its monthJy meeting in the sclioolroom. Mr B. McNicol presided. Mr H. Baker was granted leave'of absenca. Accounts totalling £4 10/4 were passed for payment. A letter was received from Mr A. J. Parker, eecretary of the school committee, who asked that his resignation from the committee be accepted on account of personal and private reasons. The committee decided to aecept Mr Parker's resignation with much regret and several of the members referred to the very fine way in which Mr Parker had carried out his duties. The committee decided to apply to the board for a fuel shed to be erected in the grounds. At present the spare room is used for this purpose and this arrangiement is dnsatisfactory. It was also -decided to reHew the halliards on the flag-pole and to procure some paint suitable for applying to the coke stove The headmaster, Mr J. F. Bell, reported a roll number of 74- Attendanco was fair and there was a fair amount of sickness. The board's paiuters were at the schoo] and the whole building was undergoing a thorough renovation.
