Puketitiri Meeting The monthly meeting of the Puketitiri Women' s Institute was held in ihe hall on Wednesday, April 7, .there being a. fair attendance of members, over .whicli the new president, Mrs Nicholls, presided. Mrs Clark was welcomed as a new member. Tlie report of the annual meeting was read also th© balance sheet for the year. It was decided by members to change the date of the monthly meeting to the third Thursday in .the monthi. A hearty vote of thanks was aecorded Mrs G. Lewis for writing a splendid account of the early settlement of the district. Competitions resulted: Best bloom from own garden: Mrs Tanner 1, Mrs Wright 2, Mrs Kauter 3. Hand made paper flowers : Mrs Jensen 1, Mrs Kauter 2. Mrs Tanner received Mrs Turner's trophy for most points in the flower se^tion for a period oi six months. Mrs English was first in tlie potato-growing competition, liaving secured the great quantity of 12011)8.' She received a special trophy from the president. Afternoon tea was served and two umusing competitions followed after whicli the singing of the National Anthem closed the meeting.
