May's Duke of Napier, regarded as the best hurdler ia tho distriet, was handicapped to co»cede 20 yards start in the Open Hurdles, 440 yards, and had to be content with third place to Mr S. Sculliu's Midnight King and Mr B". D. Marshail's Two l^otes. Mr B, A. Taylor 's young bitch Lady Kyra was unlucky enough to fill second place in both the League Park Stakos and Progressive Stakes, 440 yards eacb.
