EMPIRE FLORAL FAIR

Napier Church Function Tke Trinity Metkqdist Schoolroom, in Clive Square, Napier, was crowded yesterday afternoon for tke opening of the Grand Empire Floral Fair, proceeds of wliicli are to go to the Methodist Trust funds. Bo-th sides of the schoolroom were crowded with tastefully arranged stalls, at wkich visitors were able to buy produce, cakes, fruit, and fiowers. Proceedings -were forinally opened in the afternoon by tbe Hon. "VV. E. Barnard, M.P., following wbicli the various stalls were opened, and tbe selling began in a manner which pladened the hearts o-t tbe organisers of the fair. In the evening, a faney dress parade for the children was held, winners being awarded suitable prizes. To-morrow, the higblight of the programme is to be a mock mayoral election, while th* fair jrill be continued.
