Better Prices For Stores At • Stortford SOME LARGE DRAFTS A rise of 1/" a head and better was tke principal feature at to-day 's sale of stOre sheep at :Stortford Lodge. Tke yarding of 9000 head" consisted iargely of wetkers and lamhs, wi,th a few entries of breeding ewes. Tkree large drafts of wetkers included ,800 on account of Poporangi Station and 822 on account of Mr J. S. Dunn, of Patoka. Mr Dunn 's ' offering was submitted in one line, being of particularly good f quality and attractive, to top the market .for several 'weeks past at 27/l« All the iarge entries of wetkers were sold without a run-off. Lamba .also appreciated in value, tke top line being on account of Mr J. J. Gatenby of Corriedale cross, skorn •wetkers, wkick topped tke market at tke splendid value of 20/il. Some entries of woolly Romney wetker lambs, medium grown and in quite good order made 20/6. Small to medium-grown, black-faced sorts, easily finisked tkis autumn on good feed, made 16/3. None of tke useful lines* were neglected and tke sale continued witk » brigkt tone. ^ Realisations • were as un'deir:-— On account 'of Foporangi Station, 581 four-tootk wetkers, well .grown, in very forward order, containing a good percentage of fats .and carrying a good slipe, sold ,in tke line* at 25/-. On account of tke same vendors, an entry of. 312- older* wetkers, from tke snma draft: and in similar order to tke previous entry, b.eing in very forward order,' met. .tke markpt at 25/6. . On account 'of - Mr,;J. S. Dunn, Dun- ' moor,. On' account, ;of the same vendor, 128 large-grown. similarly . bred shorn wether lambs, , in - very forward order, real-. ised 20/11* On account of Clareinch Station, 160 Shorn ftomney lambs, medf um grown and in, sound good doing order, sold af 17/4. - * On account of . Mr L. M. Pallulo, (Newstead, 133 woolly Romney wether lamhs, medium grown and carrying a lot of condition, sold at 20/6. An entry of 121 small-grown woolly -Romney wether l.ambs, in medium store order, made 17. Down from Waipunga, 84 smallgrown woolly wefher lambs, showing a Corriedale strain, made 16/3. Off th© same property, 75 meaty small black-faced lambs in good order made 16/-. Off the Havelock Hills, an entry of 104 small to medium Romney woolly ewe lambs, in average store condition and hardy, made 23/6. An entry of 65 well-framed fat and forward early, shorn Corriedale cross wethers sold at 26/8.
