SILVER WEDDING OF MR AND MRS ARCH LOWE

In celebration of the silver wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Arch. Lowe last Thursd ay an evening, arranged by sisters and brothers of the celebrants, was held at the home of | Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Hill. When Mr. and Mrs. Lowe arrived, to their great surprise just on a hundred guests were waiting to greet them with best wishes and soon the party was aswing, with the younger folk playing games, the older ones enjoying Five Hundred, while other s adjourned to the drawing room and enjoyed musical items and recitations interspersed with charades. Solos were beautifully rendered by Mrs. Morton, Mrs. Baillie, Messrs. Jackson, Bcach and Ponga, the accompaniments ably played by Mrs. Hoskius and Miss Upton. Misses Beac.b and Lowe recited and Capt. Sutcliife greatly amused with Kis humorous stories. • Early in the evening Mrs. Lowe was presented with a posy and .silver horseshoe. About midnight all were directed to the billiard room, where the supper table, laid with silver and erystal, was laden with home-made dainties. The floral decorations were pink aud white cosmeas, reminding the happy couple of the flowers used twenty-five years ago dn a similar occasion. After supper Mrs. Lowe cut the cake, glasses were filled and, after the toast to the King, the health of the bride and groom were honoured, Mr. Lynch making an appropriate speech, to which Mr. Lowe responded. A still greater surprise was bestowed when the relatives of Mr. Lowe presented him and his wife with a beautiful chandelier; they were also the recipients of a silver tea service and many gifts of silver and erystal. After the usual "Jolly Good Fellows" was sung the happy gathering dispersed.
