WRESTLING AND BOXING
Hastings Club's Programme A combined wrestling and boxing programme has been arranged by the Hastings Gymnastic Club for the first open "club night" of the new season. This will be - to-morrow nigbt in the club rooms in- Warren street, and the majority of the leading amateur boxers and wrestlers will be seen in action. The club, which was formed last season, is looking forward to another good. year .and the early enthusiasm of the members augurs well for the success of the coming season. The oflicials have concentrated upon strengthening the physical culture aspect of the club's activities and a sehedule of hours has been drawn up that should meet with general approva-1, for it caters for all seetions of the community. ■ .... In its boxing and wrestling classes the. elub.has .many of the foremost amateurs. in this district, and. it is with the. idea of giving these boys an opportunity to learn ringcraft and gaih some experienee that the- club nights are held at "regular periods during the year. The following wrestlers will be competing to-morrow nigbt: G. Deakin, H. Brinson, A. Skudder, J. Stewart, W. Hamilton, M.- Cornacli, J. Boyd. McDoriald, A. Platt and J. Coe. . For. the boxing, a number of Waipukurau boys will be mat'ched witb Hastings amateurs.
