CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

Are sin, disease, and death real? was the subject of the lesson-sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sun- • day 11th. April. The Golden Text was Jeremiah 31:11, "The Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he." Among the citations which comprised the lesson-sermon were the following from the Bible: "The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works. And God saw Cverything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." (P,sm. 145:17, Gen. 1:31). Also the following passages from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Serip--tures," by 'Mary Baker Eddy, "God is as incapable of producing sin, sickness, and death, a« He is of experiencing these errors. How then is it possible for Him to.create man subject to this triad of errors — man who is made in the divine lilceness? Neither evil, disease, nor death can be spiritual, and the material belief in them disappears in the ratio of one'e spiritual growth." — (pp. 356, .368).
