Miscellaneous Decisions Reached SPEEDING PAST HOSPITAL! The monthly meeting ot tho Hawke's Bay County Council was held to-day. Present: Mr. F. B. Logan (chairman), and Councillors T, Palmer, W. Tucker, M. 8. Chambers, E. £L -Beamish, 8. Bennett, R. Harding, C# 0. Smith, C. Lassen and W. Turner, Leave of absence was granted to Or. N. P. Eriksen. A grant of £25 to the 'Omarunui Prainage Board, wluch was held ove* from the previous meeting, was proved. *• ft was decided to' purcfhase a Metal truek for use in both the Petane and Waikare ridings. The Hawke's Bay Rabbit Board 'a in* spectors are to receive the council 'a thanks for the good work that they had done in notifying noxious weeds, and a vote of £45 was made to them. A ocmplaint 'by the Hav?ke'» Bay; Hospital Board of speeding past the Hastings Memorial Hospital was ref«c« red to the council 's inspector. . Cr. N. P. Ericksen was appointed the council's representative on the New Zealand Five Million Club. Atttention was drawn by Mr, F. E, Evans and others to the condition of a road at Raupare. It w&3 pointed -out that the road in question "was veryj little used and the question was referi red to the chairman and Cr. Lassen. In regard to the question of * grant-in-aid for the Taradale Ceme-t tery, the chairman stated that it waa still defined as a burial ground. As a result, the trustees had been written to pointing out that if steps were taken to make it a cemetery under the Act the council would agree to make a grant on the same lines as made tft the upkeep of other cemeteries.
