Fate in H.B. in Balance The fate of Rugby League in Hawke's Bay lies in the balance. For several weeks past it has been rumoured that this code of football will not be played this winter, and while no offieial advice is to hand from the Board of Control, it is understood that there is every likelihood of the game being abandoped — at any rate during this winter. • To substantiate this, it has been announced that several prominent Rugby League players have applied for and have been granted transfers to the Rugby code. Bay Rugby Union for assistance in the formation of a Rugby Football Club in their district, stating that they are not satisfled with the treatment given them by the League. At last night 's meeting of the Union 's management committee, a sub-committee Was appointed to go into the question of arranging matches for country teams in the district surrounding Te Haroto. It is considered likely that Marama, one of League 's stronger teams, will also be returning to Rugby. * If Rugby League is not played this winter, there is a possibility of League Park being used for lower-grade matches under the Rugby code.
