Boy Stranded at Melbourne

| AUCKLAND,. Last Night. In regard. to Gordon Beehre, the Auckland boy said to be stranded in Melbourne, the local offic'e of the Hud-dart-Parker Company stated -that the boy's passage was booked by his guardian in Auckland, • prefiumably the aunt ' referred to ia the cable, who also made arrangements with a passengei aboard ths Wanganella to ' look after him on the voyage. i -'Children are not allowed to travel' ia the company 's vess6ls," it was stated, "except under the charge of an adult." No advice. of the; lad's plight had been received by the company 's office here and the name and address of tho person who had booked the -lad's passage were not known. It was stated by the uncle of Gordon Beehre that on the day the Wanganella. left Auckland he had received word from the boy's parents that they wero gping from Melbourne to Sydney and to postpono the journey for a week. It was too late to cancel the passaga and. he had sent the parents a cablegram care of the Sydney Post Office. He had not received a reply and .did not know that the boy had not found jfcis paronUt
