After a lengthy discussion, the board decided to decorate and illuminate the town with the inaterial available, the -worlt being left in the hands of the clerk, Mr W. H. Anderson It was also decided to make Coro- 1 nation Day a paid holiday for all members of tlie board's staff. Sliop-keepers are to be invited to ,decorate their premises suitably. The question of holding a special civic function was diseussed, and it was eventually decided to join witb Hastings in this. The holding of special religious and educational functions was left to the Education Board and the various churches.
