The walk-out occurred after a sudden break. down in negotiations between tho local unions and officials of the company. The Premier Qf Ontaria, Mr Mitchell Hepbum, has issued a warning that Ontario would not tolerate the chaosj or anarchy that Mr John Lewis had caused in the United States. He said this was the first open attempt of Lewis and the Committee of Industrial Organisation to dominate and dictate to Canadian industry. "We believe the time for a showdown is at the ; start. There will be no illegal sit.down strikes or picketing, and persons desiring to resume work will adequately be proteeted. The entire resources of the province will be utilised if the occasion warrants. ' '
