Method of Award Changed An alteration of the rules for the Black and White Shield dompetition vYas -agreed to by the management com-" mittee of th© Hawke's Bay Rugby Union last night. In future clubs with three grades only may also be eligible for the competition, and an average be taken of championship points for the awarding of the shield. The change was made, after some discussion, on the motion of Mr J. AV. Callaghan. - His purpose was to encourage sub-union clubs.to extend the number-of -teams in th© competition, without setting them th© impossible task of fielding i'our teams.
