Parry, stated to-day that the de^ gision had been come to in accordancsi with what was taMng place in England ■this year. The introduction of legislation next session would he necessary to readjutt matters in view of the altered date, under the Public Holidays Act, 1910; and the various awards operating. To celebrate the Sovereign's hirthday, . on Decemher 14, within & fortnight of Christmas, added Mr Parry, was not desired either by the business communityj !or by workers henefitting from tho, IholidRy.
