FIRST N.Z. SCREENING
''It Isn't Done," at the Regent, Hastings
Imagine the fun when an Australiaa squatter inherits an earldom, and takes London society by storm, especially wh%n that squatter is none other than Cecil Kellaway, Australia 's foremost ■ eharacter comedian. This is what happens in Cinesound's latest production, "It Isn't Done," a scintillating modern comedy romance with Australia 's new screen "find," lovely Shirley Ann Richards, as Kellaway 's screen daughter, Pat. It has its New Zealand premiere at the Regent Theatre, Hastings, on Saturday. The Blaydon family live quictly in their country home in Australia, when comes the surprise news that Hubert Blaydon has inherited a title and estate in England. Their arrfval there and ultimate settling-down are by no means successful. Every time "Pa" Blaydon opens liis mouth, he seems to put his foot in it. He cheerfully breaks every rule in the Book of Etiquette with his breezy, free-f or-all style, that m&Kes biue-blooded London society gasp. "But, M'Lord, it isn't done," thev said, but he did it just the same, and while they freeze with horror, you'll l e buhbling over with unrestrained laughter.
