Wairoa Executive Meets

WAIROA, This Day. The executive of the Wairoa Chamber of Commerce met on Wednesday nigibt, the president, Mr S. M. Ashburn, presiding. Correspondence was rfiad from the County Council in reply to the chamber' s inquiries, stating that a meeting of the joint comamittee would he called to.further consider the question of an aerodrome for Wairoa. The Borough Council wrote stating that as no information had been sent in reply to the council' s request, that body did not propose doing anything further. — ReceivedThe Minister of Mines wrote re the chamber's request for a geophysical survey of the Wairoa territory, asking for detinite locations of supposed minerals. —Matter to be further investigated for the beneut of the Minister. The Prime Miuister forvvarded a circular setting out the particulai's in regard to thc Georgie Y. Memorial Fund. — It was decided that the chamber, though injFull svmpathy witli the moveraent, preferj'ed to await an initiative tnove by the Boi'ough Council. The Associated Chamber b of Commerce wrote stating that the Wairoa Chamber's scheme of defence could best be made known tbrough the sister bodies — The secretary said that this was now being done. Notification was received of the forthcoming visit of the Hon. W. E. Parry on the matter of local body amalgamation. — It was decided that the whole of the executive should attend Mr Parry's meeting as representmg the Chamber.
