Rugby Team. The following players will represent the Waipukurau Club in a Rugby match against Waipawa on Saturday, at Waipawa. — Ross (2), W. Walker, Chapman (2), J. Davies, T. Davies, S. Smales, R. Ferguson, W: Oliver, K. Higgins, W. Benson, B. Pedersen," C. Watson, L. Cochrane, T. Hampton, 'V. Halford. Players will assemble . at J. Osborne 's saloon at 2p.m. ' Vital Statistics. Vital statistics for the Waipawa district for the quarter ended March, 1937, are as, follow.— Births 17 (12), deaths 7 (3), mariages 4 (8). The figures in parentheses represent the returns for the corresponding period of 1936. Otano Mothers' Uftlon. The Otane Mothers' Union's first meeting of the year was well attended. Th© church service was conducted by the vicar, the Rev R. T. Hall, who gave an address on "The Ohurch's Care for the Individiial." An adjorunment was made to the Sunday-school room, where Mrs Hall presided. Members stood in silence in memory of Mrs Davidson, wif© of a former vicar, and founder of the Otane Mothers' Union, who died earlier in th© year. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames A. G. Cfiark, A. Collins, Bone and Oliver. Porangahau Colf, The Porangahau Golf Club held its opetiing day on Saturday afternoon. Towards the end of the afternoon heavy rain brought play to a close. A Canadian foUrsome was won by Mrs Ropiha and Mr Prussing, ■ and Mrs Ropiha and Mr Ropiha equal. Mr S. Board, the president, congratulated the greens committee for its efforts in getting the greens jn order. He presented the winners with trophies, and thanked everyone for attending.
