HARVEST FESTIVAL

Our Own Correspondent.)

Ongaonga Church Succcss

rFrom

ONGAONGA, Last Night. The annual harvest festival. in conneetion with the Ongaonga Church was a great auccess. The stalls for sweets, produce, fancy articles, etc., were all filled, and the ladies in charge did excellent business throughout the evening, while the proceeds from games and competitions added to the very satiefaetory financial return from the festival. All who took part or contributed are to be congratulated on the result. During the evening two elocutionary items were given by Miss L. Ruston and songs were sung by Mrs and the Rev. A. O. Jones, of Waipawa. The Rev. Mr Jones, who is leaving the .district, was given a presentation from the church members by Mr E. S. Bibby. . Mr Bibby, On behalf of the members, said how sorry everyone was to lose Mr Jones, and all wished him good luck in his new home. Mr O. Bloomfield, on behalf of the Bible class members, asked Mr Jonea to accept some volumes in token of the esteem in which he was held by the younger folk. "For They Are Jolly Good Fellows" was then sung by the people present and supper was served.
