Napier Wool Sale

GROWERS SATISFIED Report of Brokers Upon Prices Realised THE OFFICIAL RANGE Higher prices, in accordance with tlie recent rise at the Iast "Wellington wool sale, were realised for all wools offered at the wool sale at Napier yesterday, when the concluding sale of the season for Hawke's Bay was held. Increases of np to 3d a lb. were recorded, with keen competition forthcoming from a representative bench of buyers. Bradford, the Continent, the TJnited States, and Canada, were all taking a major part in the selling, but Japanese competition was not such a feature as at previous Napier scales this season. Growers were generally well satisfied with their returns, which represented a distinct advance on the prices ruling earlier in the season, and particularly pleased were thos'e farmers who were unable to sell their wool at the previous saies as a result of the allocations .being filled. The quality of the offering was not of sueh high standard, with a big proportion of shabby and inferior wools, man'y containing seed, catalogued, bnt apparently a world wanting wool does not wish to pick and choose to the same extent as when world supplies were less eagerly competed for# As a result, yesterday 's sale saw a record clearance.
