Solo Flight. Mr E. R. Perkins, of the Central Hawke's Bay Aero Club, who has made a solo flight, is the second member of the club to achieve this distinctioh. Mr P. Murphy has already done -!-£ hours' solo flying. Institute "Shop." The Porangahau Women's Institute held a "shop" day in aid of the Plunket Society. The stall was well filled and well patronised. Bridge at Norsewood. The temporary bridge ereeted over the Manawatu river at Norsewood, on the main highway, was opened in time for the Easter traffie, which was very heavy this year. The work of demolishing the old coerete bridge is now i»i progresse and it will be replaeed by a two-way structure on the same site.
