WAR-TIME EXPLOSION

Germany to Pay Compensation to America BIG SUM AGREED UPON (Received 6, 8.45 a.m.) WASHINGTON, April 5. It js revealed at Washington that Germany has agreed to pay 22,474,000 dollars for claims resulting largely from war-time explosions at Blackton and Kangsland (New Jersey) in terms reached in July last at Munich. It is disclosed that a brief has been filed with the Mixed Claims Commission by railway and steel companies opposing an attempt by 48 American holders of other awards to block the settlement, which must* have the approval o-f the commission to become effective.
