(Reeeived 7, 11.45 g.m.) LONDON, April tf. The Manchester Guardian's diplomatie correspondent says: "There is growing hostUity in Germany towards participation in the Spanish war, which is constantly discussed in Ihe bigger factories, where astonishingly successful secret subscriptions on behalf of the Spanish Government have heen organised. " The middle class, which is the most ifliscontexited class in Germany, is also more hostile, while Eeichswehr officers xegard Spanish events with increasiug pessimism. Highly-placed officers express eatisfaction that the High Command opposed Herr Hitler 's request to send a larger force to implement his promise to the rebels that Germany would dispatch 60,000 men. The Army declared that it did not have 60,000 men for that purpose, consequently a compromise was arranged, xesulting in Germany .dispatcMng war material. ' '
