TIKOKINO GATHERING
The Tikokino Women's Institute held their eleventh birthday meeting in the Oddf ellows ' Hall on April 1. Visitors from Waipawa and Waipukurau altended and were accorded a hearty v/elcome by the president, Mrs Pettowski. After business was transaeted, the afternoon was spent in music, songs, reeitations and a playette. Visitors and local members rendered items which were all greatly enjoyed. After tea had been served opportunity was taken to farewell Mrs Nicolls and Miss Joan Nicolls, who are leaving the district. Mrs Petrowski asked Mrs Nicolls to accept a silver and Doulton-ware cake stand, and Miss Joan Nicolls, a crystal vase. Both ladies fcuitably replied. They were accorded musical honours, after which ; thc singing of the National Anthem j ocncluded^a pleasant afternoon. |
