To-Day's Fat-Cattle Yarding at Waipukurau SMALL SHEEP ENTRY . • \ The offering of fat cattle at Waipukurau to-day consisted entirely of dairy sorts, giving butchers a very limited rahge of quality to select from. The yarding consisted o fa wide assortment of mixedlbred and Jersey sorts,, most of which were aged and of inierior quality. The offering was the poorest seen in the yards for some time, aud mauy of tlie nondescript lofs were hard to quit. The few isolated entries showing quality were readily disposed of, indicating that prime station-bred lines would liave made a bright sale. A few very young runners and vealers in very good order sold well. A sniall supply of springing eows met with good competition from dairymeri who were present from Hastings and Taradale. The station-bred store cattle consisted of two small entries of Aberdeen Angus steers in hardy order, making to £7 6/-. • . ' - In store-sheep pens only about 1200 were penned, tlie smallest offering made foT some months at the yards. Tliese consisted. of lambs and store ewes. Realisations were : EAT CATTLE. / . An entry of 12 fairly-grown cleanbred 18-months Aberdeen AngUs steers, in sound, hardy order, sold at £7 5/-. Five dairy-raised mixed-bred fat heifers, small grown but quite well finished, sold at £5. An aged small-framed Shorthoru cow, poorly finished, sold at £5.' Tliree Aberdeen Angus and Shorthorn SO-months-old steers, making a good light beef entry, realised £8 12/-. A springing fou'rth calver Friesiancross cow made £7 10/6. 1 A springing third calver Jersey-crosn cow sold: for £6 15/-. A well-conditioned heavy Jersey-eross runner realised £5 5/-. A well-fed nieely-grown Jersey vealer brought £3 2/6. Three clean-bred mediuih to heavy fine-quality Aberdeen Angus cows realised £8 11/-. An extra-prime Shorthorn 18-months-old steer, in excellent order, was verbally sopght after to sell at £7 18/6. A purelired five-year-old empty Eed Poll cow with a nicely-grown, sturdy' calf at foot by a similarly-bred bull sold at £10 15/-. This young cow was in excellent order, being useful for Turther breeding purposes. A pen of Shorthorn-cross yearling steers in good order sold at £3 10/-. FAT SHEEP. A draft of 99 lafge-framed prime owes, which should kill oul al-GOlhsto 581b., were pa&sed al'21/4. An enLry of light ewes, in killable order, made 18/-. A line of 37 small-growu blaekface iamba, iu light to medium order, sold at 1,9/10. A small entry of heavy blackface lambs, well woolled, made 27/4. Seven medium-fratned heavy prime ewes, carrying a good slipe, made 21/6. Twenty-three prime 5-yr ewes made "!/-• An entry of 41 light blackface lambs, iiuaJl grown, made 19/-. A ■ line of 100 very light-fiuished ewes, well woolled, made 19/-.
