PROVINCIAL PERSONALS
The Hon. W. E, Parry, Minister of internal Affairs, has atlvised the Mayor of Wairoa, Mr H. L. Harke'r, that be proposes to visit Wairoa on April 16, and will address a pubiio meeting about the movement for amalgamation of local bodies. Mr P. Martin-Smith, M.A., L1B., tutor-organiser for the Workers' Educational Association, Palmerston North, is in Wairoa engaged in extending the association's activities. He has had success at the various railway camps and is now operating in the borougb. Miss Ceciiy Green, Wairoa, leaves chis week for Wellington, to take up a course of school clinic training. Mr and Mrs Stanley Page, Wairoa, left yesterday for Auckland, where they will reside in future.
Mrs Tanner and Miss Johnston, Tauranga, are visiting Wairoa, staying with Mr and Mrs H. R. Taylor, Clydebank. Mr H.' Limbrick, Waipawa, is at present on a visif to the West Coast. Mrs Limbrick left yesterday on the first stage of her journey to Europe and Englaud. Miss I. F. Limbrick has re- . turned from a- holiday visit to Auckland. At a recent meeting of the execuTive of the Dannevirke Iteturned Soldiers' Association, opportunity was taken to farewell Mr F. W. K. Raymond, vicepresident, who has been transferred from Dannevirke to manage the Union Bank of Australia at Whakatane. Much regret was expressed at Mr Raymond' s impending dcparture and many members praised his valued serviees for returned men. Mr J. Bradley, president, spoke of Mr Raymond's sympathetic work for former comrades-in-arms, and wished both the guest and Mrg Ray-

McCallum, lorinerJy of Te Puke, who lias been appointed manager of the Dannevirke branch of the Union Bank, vice Mr F. W.-K. Raymond, who has been transferred to the Whakatane branch, took up hife diities yesterday morning. Mr Kaymond will probabJy leave for Whakatane towards the end of the week.
