A Painful Accident. Injuries necessitating his admission to hospital were sustained hy Bruco Gibson, in the ploughed paddock oppu* site the butter factory at Waipukurau, when he was jolted olf a set of disca, which passed over him, inflicting cuts on his hand and back. At the time he was working for Mr A. Roach. Waipawa Football. Following the decision of the Waipawa Football Club to field only a junior team in the sub-union competir.ions this season, a practice match was held on Coronation Park on Saturday afternoon, there being a very good rnuster of players. Indications point to ti team being fielded which should give a good accouut of itself. Waipawa Bowling, Aithough the weather was not at all promising on Saturday afternoon, a number of players were present at the Waipawa Bowling Club's green and ten heads were played before it became necessary to cease owing to tlie increasingly heavy rain. The results at that stage were: — Hawke, Walker 13; Petherick, McKay 11. Holt, Fletcher, Chisholm 11; Kingston, Noell, Holt 7 Hand Badly Crushed. Mr J. Boult, an employee at tlie Waipawa and Hastings Fruit Oase Company'a mill at Waipawa, received injuries necessitating his admission to the district hospital when his hand wa« 1 badly crushed by a log,
