Mrs Felkin, of Havelock North, left for Wellington to-day and leaves by the Awatea for Sydney to recuperat© after her serious illness last year. Mr H. J. Lean, of Hastings, who has been in the Napier Hospital for some time, is making a good rejjovery and anticipates his return to home in the near future. Mr H. L. Mullany, of Wellington, a very early meinber of the Hawke's Bay Herald'e machine-room staff, is at present holidaying in Hawke'e Bay and renewing old acquaintances. The Rev. A. E. Wattie, Metnodist minister at Bluff, will leave early this week for his new parish at Dannevirke. His place at Bluff will be taken by the Rev. G. Knowies Smith, Woodville, who is to arrive on April 16. Mr and Mrs T. Walford, of Te Araroa, who, after many years on the E'nst Coast, are leaving shortly to reside in Napier, wero farewelied by a large gathering before their departure. Speeches were made by Messrs B. Corbett, F. Jackson, C. McCracken and S. Rudland. Mr F. Jackson presented Mr and Mrs Walford with a cheque, and Mr Walford responded. Mr R. N. Williams, assistant-engi-neer to the Napier Harhour Board, has resigned his position with the board to go abroad in search of further engineering • experience. He will leave Napier on Tuesday, April 13, for Capetown, and after a period in South Africa he intends to visit England, Europe and Asia- Mr Williams, who resides at Taradale, is an old boy of the Napier Technical School, and is a foriner All Black and New Zealand Universities footballer. He was a firstclass atxiiete and cyclist, until an injury to his knee caused his retirement. He has, however, for some years acted as referee at the) various sports gatherings of the Napier Amateur Athletio and Cycling Club, Puketapu Sports Club, and Taradale Returned Soldiers' Association. Mr Williams will carry with him the good wishes of a very large number of friends.
