FUR OR TWEED COATS CHIEFLY WORN AT SATURDAY'S RACES

1 The weather was dull and misty for the Dannevirke Racing Club's autumn meeting, which was held on the Waipukurau racecourse on Saturday. Fur and smartiy ■ tailored tweed coats wero worn by most people, set off with jaunty velour and felt hats having gay f eather quills stuck through the • high crowns. Many white raincoats were seen worn with bright-coloured scarves_ Mrs P. F. Wall, wore a tailored coat of grey flecked donegal twecd with a Persian lamb collar and smart llght navy felt hat banded in deep red ribbed ribbon. Mrs G. D. Beatson, becoming lido blue cloth coat with a brown fur collar and small matching hat. Mrs Alf Symes, musquask coat, worn ovor a navy suit and a navy felt hat. Mrs D. Holden, tailored coat in grey blue flecked Harris tweed with a deep persian lamb collar and a matching twecd hoia hat. Mrs H. Peacock, light navy tweed suit, navy shovel hat and stone marten necklet. Mrs J. O 'Reilly, long cream rain cape, over a blue suit and a navy felt hat turned up at one side with a quill. Lady Hunter, fawn and brown tweed ensemble, brown blouse and small matching tweed hat.
