FUR OR TWEED COATS CHIEFLY WORN AT SATURDAY'S RACES

1 The weather was dull and misty for the Dannevirke Racing Club's autumn meeting, which was held on the Waipukurau racecourse on Saturday. Fur and smartiy ■ tailored tweed coats wero worn by most people, set off with jaunty velour and felt hats having gay f eather quills stuck through the • high crowns. Many white raincoats were seen worn with bright-coloured scarves_ Mrs P. F. Wall, wore a tailored coat of grey flecked donegal twecd with a Persian lamb collar and smart llght navy felt hat banded in deep red ribbed ribbon. Mrs G. D. Beatson, becoming lido blue cloth coat with a brown fur collar and small matching hat. Mrs Alf Symes, musquask coat, worn ovor a navy suit and a navy felt hat. Mrs D. Holden, tailored coat in grey blue flecked Harris tweed with a deep persian lamb collar and a matching twecd hoia hat. Mrs H. Peacock, light navy tweed suit, navy shovel hat and stone marten necklet. Mrs J. O 'Reilly, long cream rain cape, over a blue suit and a navy felt hat turned up at one side with a quill. Lady Hunter, fawn and brown tweed ensemble, brown blouse and small matching tweed hat. Mrs Bill Harris, golden brown wool frock having a white turned down collar, hip length brown coat and a golden brown velour hat. Mrs R. P. Wilder, resida green costume worn with 'a brown coat and brown velour hat, turned up at the back# Mrs A. M. White, navy tailored suit and a navy felt hat. Mrs W. Stead, brown astrakhhn coat over a brown costume, and a brown velour coat. Mrs Bob Stead, musquash coat worn over a brown striped wool frock and a matching velour hat.

Mrs W. Henderson, black fur coat worn over a black frock and a black felt hat, with a touch of white. Mrs Nelson Hunter, black frock and black felt hat, black coney seal coat. Mrs W. D. Fleming, brown tweed tailored coat with a wide fur collar and 'a matching felt hat. Mrs W. J. Harding, saxe blue rain coat, over a navy frock and a smart blue suede hat, finished with a quill. Mrs L. Harker, black and white hair Mrs R, O. Bousficld, musquash coat striped suit, crcam silk blouse and black felt hat. worn over an orange woollen jumper suit and a fawn velour hat. Mrs H. Parsons, brown tweed belted suit, brown blouse, and a brown felt halo' hat. Mrs H. Carylon, fawn Harris tweed ensemble, and a red tweed hat. Mrs F. A. G. Dunn, fawn check tweed suit and a brown felt halo hat. Mrs G. L. Jamieson, light fawn donegal tweed ensemble and a matching felt hat. Mrs Y. Bradley, brown and fawn check tweed suit, brown blouse and a small brown felt hat. Mrs H. M, Christie, cedar brown tweed suit, brown sailor hat and stone marten fur neeklet. Mrs L# Cutforth, grey flannel suit, smart shovel hat in cherry felt. Mrs M. Tiffen, saxe blue and white flecked tweed Russian suit and a matching tweed hat. Mrs W. B. Fisher, white belted raincoat, worn over a fawn wool costume and a matching halo hat. Mrs C. Schroder, navy cloth tailored coat, and a navy felt hat. Mrs A. T. Mrs F> Hewitt, saxe blue diagonil tweed belted suit, smart matching hat with a feather mount. Mrs Manson (Hastings), tailored suit in left brown, worn with a brown cloth toque. , . , Mrs H. Stovell, heather mixturd tweed ensemble. pale pink crepe tio chene jumper and a brown velour hat. Mrs J. A. McLean, brown cloth coat with a deep fur collar and a matching felt hat. Mrs Eric Todd, grey musquash coat worn over a navy wool frock, navy and white figured scarf and a navy hat. Mrs L. P. Barrett, tailored brown suit and brown beret. Mrs F. McWilliam, dark brown cloth coat with a wide fur collar and a matching hat turned up at the sido. Mrs E.' Gilbertson, resida green flecked tweed suit and a smart green hat with a matching quill. Mrs E. de Stacpoole, lido blue wool coat frock and a smart black toquo having an eye veil; Mrs G. Edgcombe, cleqr brown tweed costume and a smart brown cap hat, trimmed with a gold buckle. Mrs T. Given, musquash coat worn over a bungundy floral frock and golden brown velour hat. Mrs W. Hamilton, tailored costume in eliocolate brown tweed, cream satin blouse and a brown felt halo hat. Miss Mary Wall, dark brown tweed ensemble and a matching hat. Miss Prue Wilder, grey and black plaid ensemble, ;worn with a smart jade green fltting felt hat. Miss A. Monckton, blue ribbed wool jumper suit and a small navy hat. Miss Shirley Clay, navy cloth coat having a wide leather belt and a shovel navy felt hat. Miss Susie White, tailored costume in brown tweed and a Breton sailor felt hat. Miss Connie Syme, saxe blue und white check suit and a blue felt hat. Wilder, Russian suit in grey nnd green flecked wool with gold buttons on front' of tunic and a jade green tyrolean hat with a jaunty feather mount. Miss Peggy Hkrtland, dark green cloth coat, green felt hat finished with a quill through the crown. Miss S. Monckton, tailored grey tweed suit, green and white spotted scarf, and a jade green felt hat. Miss Urph (Wellington), green and white flecked tweed costume, green felt hat finished with an orange quill, and an orange and green striped scarf. Miss Eileen Butler, lemon wool jumper, with a brown tweed suit and cream hat. ' Miss Molly Whelch", costume in brown tweed and brown astrakhan cap. Miss Margaret Pattison, blue tweed costume, and a matching felt hat. Miss June Hewitt, dark grey nnd black plaid coat, and a smart black felt shovel hat. Miss Freda Hole, grey tweed skirt and long coat worn with a Small matching felt hat.
