NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day. Tha Taranaki Trotting Club's meeting opened in fine weather. There is a good attendance and the track is soft after overnight rain. Results: — FITZROY HANDICAP.— 2/2 CASH DOWN 1, 1/1 King Gussxe 2, 3/3 Worthy Song 3. Scr: Dark Shadow. Won by a length, third back two lengths. Time, 2.57 1-5. % WAITARA HANDICAP.— 1/1, WRACKLESS (108) 1, 2/3 Tan Jofin (144) 2, 3/2 Reception (120) 3. All started. Won by one and a-half lengths, third back two lengths. Time, 3.36 1-5.
