The Currie Cup tournament helped the union's revenue to the extent pf £3,727 7s lld; inter-provincial friendlv games brought in another £133 2s 6d; the North versuS South trial resulted in a "gate" of £1057 10s, and local competitions, including season ticket saies, was responsibie for £2069 iOs. Greyhound racing at Springfield brodght in a net amount of £1274 ls 6d to the union by way of rents. On the other hand administrative expenses amounted to £1215 19s, general maintenance £1427 14s 5d, local competitions £607 10s 9d, the inter-zone competition £75 5s 7d (in* cidentally it woUld have been interesting to have been given the gate for the inter-zone matches), £75 5s 7cl, the Currie Cup tournament £1271 19s 8d; and the North versus South trials £816 2s lld. Revenue for the seasoh exceeded ex* penditure by £2839. It is interesting to note that the Transvaal Rugby Union property is valued at £45,160 ls 2d, Ellis Fark being marked down at £33,424 2s 2d, and Springfield at £11,532 10s 6d.
