Hastings Mid-Week Cricket Championship WEST END D0WNIN FINAL The Hastings mid-week cricket club championship was won by Heretaunga by three points. The fate of the title rested upon the final game, completed yesterday afternoon, against West End, who by their outright defeat lost their grip on the championship. Conditions were good for the completion of the series of games at Nelson Park, and main' interest was attached to the meeting, of Heretaunga and West End, the former winning by eighfc wiekets. In the other game Metlyodist defeated United to secure the maximum of four points. Details of the games were as iollow: Heretaunga v. West End. — On the opening day Heretaunga with a tctal of 77 runs had establisbed a lead of three runs on West End on the f r«t inoings. Yesterday West End were dismissed for 59 rung (McDonald 31 ; Rouse five for 15, Kitt four f?r 31). Heretaunga made the retjuii'ed luiis for the loss of two wickets (Giorgi 21 not out, Rouse 14, Shuker 14, Kitt 12 not out). Methodist v. United. — On the first day Methodist made 163 and United replied with 111. In their secoad innings Methodist made 75 (Broadhurst 21, Wilkins 22 not out; Brimer tix lor 28, Mahouey three for 29), 'eaviiig United 128 to g?et for a win, but they were distnissed for 97 (Mahonov 27, Crosby 21, Dahn 16 not out; Wilkins five for 49, Broadhurst three for 21).
