"Unremitting warfare will be waged against Communism and Fascism and all other subversive propaganda," declared the Minister for Justice, Mr Ernest Lapointe, in the House of Gommone, "not by the use of guns and gaols but by education and the elimination of causes of unrest. Equal justice and charity are best." When Mr Woodsworth, leader o£ the Commonwealth Federation, protested, Mr Lapointe replied that Communism was a menace which must be checked. "We have the forces to do it, " he added.
