Man Hurt in Fall. FaJling from a roof when a ladder gave way. beneath him, Mr W. F. C. Bpargo,. Otane, sufl'ered head injuries and a broken arm. He was removed ti the Waipukurau Hospital, where he is still a patient, but is reported to be making satisfactory progress. The Otane Sehool Committee passed a uiotion of sympathy with Mr Spargo at its last meeting. Mr G. McKay, Otane, is also in the Waipukurau Hospital suffering from injuries received in an accident, ' Bible Class In Camp, Huring the Easter week-end the members of the Waipawa Presbyterian Boys5 Bible Class were in eamp at Kairakau. On Easter Monday tke members o± the Anglican Boys' Class paij. a visit to the beach to compete in a friendly cricket match. A very enjoyable ganio resulted, the weathei* being perfect for the occasion. The outstanding feature of the match was the bowling of W. Collett; -for Presbyterian-; when- in the second . lnmngs, with consecutive balls he took six wickets. Goncrete Power Poles, The manufacture of . concrete power ' poles in Waipukurau was begun yesterday. Two men, under Mr A. W. Rutherford will be employed until the scheme gets under way properly, when it is likely that the staff may be increased. Men are Uow eneaserl m nrp.

It is estimated that about 30 poles will be made every week. Otane Sehool. The monthly meeting of the Otane Sehool Committee was held on Tuesday night, Mr A.' E. Black presidingj. Ihe headiiiaster * reported that the average attendance since sehool re-opened was 147 and " the present roll number was 157,' a dectease on last year's figures. { The secretary was instructed to buy .some new gramophone records.'
