Good Attendance and Fine Weather

WAIROA, Last Kight. The ninth annual sports of the Waiau Sports Club were held on Easter Saturday on the property of Mr. W. Carson, Waikaremoana. The ground is ideally situated, well sheltered, and provided with a terrace forming a uatural grandstand. There'was a good attendance and the weather kept* fine. Mr. Arnold Perry, with his loud speaker, provided a vatried programme of light musie. There wore somo good horses on the ground and in the maiu ovents the jumping was good. The veteran jumper Ginger Mick seeured second place in the open jump, hunter 's style. He started jumping as a five-year-old and is now 28, and it is understood he will bo "pensioned oi^,, after this season. A dance to wind up the day was held and was a success. The prizes won were presented during the evening.
