CARROL v. LETO

American Beaten at Sydney HAS A VICIOUS RIGHT (Beceived 31, 11.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, March 30. A large crowd witn&ssed a 15-round bout in the open air on the sports ground to-night between Jack Carroll (10.6) and the newly-arrived Ameriean, Jimmy Leto, the former gaining a points deeision. The American was a slow beginner, but with a vicious right, and fOund difficulty in getting close to Carroll owing to the latter'e longer reach and superior ringeraft. Carroll appeared to have the better of the earlier rounds despite a cut over his eye, but Leto, from thfc tenth, fought back and had his opponent in trouble more than once.
