MR HENRY HIGARTY
The death oecurred on Friday of Ms Henry Hegarty, well-known in sheepfarming circles in the Poverty Bay and East Coast districts. He was bom iv t)unedin 79 years ago and laid the foundations of his wealth in horse-dealing, in which he became one of the biggest contractors for the supply of mounts for the Indian Army. Mr. Hegarty purchased property in Poverty Bay iaany years ago. He did not come into prominence as a public man, preferring to live quietly. However, he was a member of the Poverty Bay and East Coast' Sheepowners* Union, being a member of its executive for a number of years until a shorfc time ago. To the widow, formerly Miss K. Todd, Dunedin, and one son and two daughters, will be extended the sympathy of their many friends. The family comprises Mrs E. J. Stock, Tolaga Bay, Miss Eileen Hegarty, who has been living in London for some time, and Mr "William Hegarty, Gisborne.
