Hawke's E|ay Branch Meeting

WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. The usual fortnightly meeting of the Hawke's Bay branch oi the New Zealand PX Club was held at Waipukurau on Wednesday. Mr L. Blackie took the chair. Various discussions took plac© r© the purchase of suitable inaterial for experimental purposes and it was decided to arrange this xnatter at .the next meeting to be held in Woods tearooms on April 7. The only competition held was an open one won by Mr J. Piki. The other competitions are to b© decided at the next meeting. Members and intending members are rec[uested to attend the next meeting as there are several important matters to be dealt with. European stations are now coming in at good strength on the broadcast band and members are xeminded that only approximatelly six weeks remain until tbe season for tbese stations ends until the spring. American stations also at good strength incclude: KFI (640 k.c.) KPO (680), WLW (700), KGU (740), WBBM (770), KOA (830), WENR— WLS (870), XENT (910), KNX (1050), KMOX (1090), KSL (1130), KFAC (1300), KGMB (1320), and £FBK(1490).
